The CCMA’s very popular First Thursday’s One
Night Stand opened a new season of unique evenings with the artist in "A
Dialogue with Jazz," featuring live painting to the Dan Sullivan Trio,
and pianist Chris Morris of the Cape Cod Conservatory and Academy of Performing
Arts. More than 140 attended the season opener.
A second "One Night Stand," held Thursday, May 1, closed the season, featuring the work produced in the artist's April class at the Museum, "Paint What You Hear" -- a collaboration with the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra. The artist and his students painted "live" to the Symphony's Cape Youth String Ensemble's presentation of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, concentrating on Spring and Summer. The work produced in the class, as well as the Youth Ensemble and the students, came together again at the CCMA for this special evening.
