The Rothko Dialogue Series

Exploring the essence of the landscape through an

ongoing "Dialogue" with the artist Mark Rothko.

A very personal literary and artistic study of this legendary artist...

Twenty-three "Dialogues" were completed over the course of two years.

Now, after more than seven years, the series begins again.

"There is more power in telling little than in telling all."

                                                                                  Mark Rothko

 Dialogue XVI                                                              Untitled

Rick Fleury, 2007                                          Mark Rothko, 1969

"...a marvelously inventive theme and handsomely executed; simply irresistible. Like any good dialogue,
it invites the viewer to reconsider both sides of the equation."

                                                                                 David W. Dunlap
                                                                                 June, 2010

The series begins again. After more than ten years since the last Dialogue came out of the studio

in 2009, the series resumes with Dialogue XXIV – once again exploring the essence of the landscape

through the mastery of Rothko, furthering his inspiration as new work in this genre unfolds. Now,

twenty-five Dialogues have been completed to date – the latest a private commission.
